It still feels a little unreal to write this. Ten years ago I started sewing bags at our kitchen table in Asheville, North Carolina, with my son Owen on my arm. The kitchen table became a small studio, and a few bags became Clara & Owen. Today he's ten and cuts the fabric for me after school; his name has belonged on every piece since the very first bag, just as much as mine.
